A number of people are sharing their reverse transformations on Instagram and say they are more confident now
WITH New Year just around the corner many people will be planning on joining a gym and cutting back on the Christmas feasting.
But will shifting the pounds actually make you happier? A number of women said it didn’t… and shared their reverse transformations.
Numerous people shared their before and after weight loss pictures on Instagram, but these women claim they actually feel more confident having gaining weight.
Some have gone up on the scales due to building muscles, meanwhile others have simply toned down their hardcore diet and fitness regimes.
They claim that not beating themselves up about having the “perfect body” is key to being happy.
Here are the women sharing their backward transformations…
Karina Irby
Bikini designer Karina hit back at trolls who called her fat, as she revealed weight-lifting has given her the booty of her dreams.
Karina showed off side-by-side transformation pictures showing her peachy booty gains.
She previously said on an Instagram post: “Trolls will comment that I’m now “fat” BUT in reality I’m a happy, healthy lady. I was pretty unhealthy in my first photo. Not eating right and not taking care of my body.
“Yes I’ve gained weight, both fat and muscle but I’m now training four times a week and eating for my body. It’s crazy what eating and weights can do.”
Megan Jayne Crabbe
Body positive blogger Megan “doesn’t give a damn” when cruel trolls say she’d be “more f***able” if she was skinnier.
She said some people claim she has “ruined” her body by gaining a few pounds but she strongly disagrees.
Megan said “this is my happy body” and “happiness isn’t a size”.
Renee.fitt
Australian Renee is passionate about helping people become confident about her bodies.
She shared a post about how increasing her calories was the “best decision she made”.
Renee was previously scared that eating food would make her gain fat, but she has since increased her meals to help fuel her workouts and her confidence has grown.
Victoria Niamh Spence
Victoria has been on quite a journey when it has come to her diet and weight.
In the first picture she was suffering from anorexia, and developed an “obsessed with food, exercise” and her body in the middle shot.
Her weight loss saw her periods stop and her hair fall out, but she finally got healthier by last year.
She said: “Don’t lose the meaning of health, while trying to be healthy”.
Liza Golden-Bhojwani
Model Liza has also had her ups and downs when it has come to her body image.
Starting out in the industry, she felt the pressure to “fit in” and even fainted one night while preparing one of her low calorie meals.
She has since given up the “fight” to adhere to catwalk ideals and claims she is a lot happier for it.
Marciel Hopkins
Beauty queen Marciel claims she felt she had to lose just over two stone to take the title as Miss South Africa.
She revealed she followed a strict diet and trained up to three times a day.
Marciel may have shifted pounds, but she didn’t feel great about her body.
She said: “My boobs shrunk 2 cup sizes and my period stopped. On this specific day of the picture, I got home, freezing after the shoot, and I had a baby apple for dinner.”
The brunette beauty decided it wasn’t worth the “daily battle with food” and instead has made the choice to “strive towards being the healthiest and happiest version of herself”. Gaining Weight
She claims her body is her “new best friend”.
Amie Wiley
Amie shared with her followers her four-year journey from “skinny to strong”.
In the first photo, she claims she overdid the cardio and ate very little food.
Now the fitness buff says she lifts weights and eats much more food, resulting in developing more muscle.
Jolene Jones
Confident Jolene says she’s gone from “body builder to body lover”.
The Instagrammer says that previously she used to have a gruelling gym routine and would weigh out her food.
She claims that having a six pack and shedding to compete in bodybuilding competitions didn’t make her happy.
One day she admitted to herself that she felt she was “never enough”, so decided to instead embrace and love her body the way it was.
Jolene said: “My worth is weighed by those I surround myself with and the smile on my face.”
Jovanafit
Fitness Instagrammer Jovana said she was deeply unhappy when her body was at its slimmest.
In order to turn things around, she relaxed her diet and fitness plan, and she said life is happier for it.
She wrote: “Am I upset right now? I am absolutely not. Because I have been killing my workouts, been gaining so much strength, and strengthening my relationship with myself.”
Mackenzie Forbes
She said that she convinced herself that being “thin” would bring her happiness and would help her feel accepted.
On Instagram, she wrote: “Little did I know that lifting weights, not killing my body with HOURS of cardio everyday and eating enough would get me to the body I had ALWAYS wanted.”
